Great wii port November 11, 2009 Mr. A. Hurrell (Hull) 33 out of 34 found this review helpful
I was really looking forward to this game and when the early screenshots were released it looked clunky and worse than the world at war game (which i love) that came out a year ago.
First thing you notice when you start playing is how fantastic the games graphics are, the sound is great and adds alot to the game. The single player mode is mouth watering and great fun.
The main reason why i bought the game was for the online multiplayer and im glad to inform it is outstanding, about twice as many maps as world at war, better graphic, you get into a match very quickly and so many game modes it's unbelievable.
A must buy for any First person shooter fan, online will have you hooked.
GREAT GAME !! November 11, 2009 LaughingDeals (UK) 12 out of 13 found this review helpful
I'm amazed at how good a port this is!
I'm a big fan of the XBox version and wasn't expecting this to be as good - but it is!
Graphics are obviously not up to the par with the Xbox 360 and PS3's but the gameplay and immersive action is all there.
Head to head multiplay isn't supported which is a bit of a bummer - but the online gameplay ROCKS !!
Great game - definitely recommended !

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Reflex Edition
IGN: 7.0
Gamespot: 8.5
Just two brilliant reviews for an absolutely brilliant game! I am a lover of all FPS games so I was extremely excited when a game like MW came out on the Wii! I have to say, however, that the controls take a bit of getting used to, and (admittidly) I found the training very frustrating, and it took me a few times to pass it! But straight after the opening mission I was totally hooked.
Along with the gripping storyline, the amazing gameplay and the enthralling multiplayer mode (which I will come to in a minute), it is definitely worth the price and i guarantee that you will be hooked!
Coming onto the multiplayer: I had not experienced gameplay such as this before, but I loved the system. Basically, you start off as a Private and as you kill people and complete challenges you earn XP that will help to take you up to the next rank! There is a wide range of maps, from the Middle East to Chernobyl, even to a Cargo Ship in Beirut, so you will never get fed up of it! And there is still loads more to discover.
If you are looking for graphics then you may not be too impressed, but then the Wii was never designed with amazing graphics in mind. The gameplay is awesome, and all other extras are very good, so there is nothing else worth pointing out!
All in all, if you love shooters or you simply would just love to master a new game or skill, then this game is for you.
Yours Faithfully,
punkmeister.
PS : Happy Gaming!
CoD 4: MW: R for Wii December 11, 2009 D. Armitage (UK) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Very good game. The graphics are good for Wii. Campaign is fun, totally different aspect compared to other games on this console and has a good story. Not as many desert missions as would be expected, the majority of the game is in Russia. I particularly enjoyed the sniper level, made a change from normal gun and run levels (even though at one point there is a lot of running :) play the level to know what i mean.) HOWEVER, though a two player campaign is advertised, it actually only includes a second person shooting from the single players screen, they have no control over movement or anything (similar to mario glaxy co-op.)
Online is very good, nice to see that problems with CoD WAW online have been addressed, such as having to exit the game lobby when you lose connection. Good diversity of match types and weapons and has a more functions than WAW, such as different games and challenges. No major differences really though, but it is definately an overall improvement. Would be good to have two-player online play.
Though it would have been nice for it to come out when it came out for the other consoles, it is still worth buying. I would recommend it to anybody as it is one of those games worth trying. Overall, a very good game.
must buy game November 10, 2009 M. Pruden (uk) 39 out of 46 found this review helpful
well i thought this might be a quick bodged port. and how wrong i was. this is a full modern warfare experience.and its got the same video sequences as the PS3 version. now you want to know. the real question. any good.well in all cases its the big game on the wii.a perfect conversion.
graphics really do the game justice. they look polished and fast rendering. make this game wonderfull to look at. next the playability is well the same as PS3 version.
the only difference is its not in HD.quite simply the PS3 version on the wii.
10 out of 10 to the programmers. they really have built the perfect war game. if you must buy one game this year this has to be it.
believe the hype. its really is this good.
